Listening to a Presentation

Thursday, March 5th, 2009

Hello again,

This week Caroline should be sending you a listening exercise. However, she has had a lot of dental surgery done and she has been in a great deal of pain and unable to talk very well for the last few days.

So I’m afraid you’ve got a listening lesson from me instead.

I’ve prepared some exercises for you to help you to follow a presentation. I know this can be difficult for many of you.

First I want you to go to this page and READ the text.

http://effective-presentation-skills.com/2009/02/26/presentations-%E2%80%93-getting-over-your-fears/

Make sure that you understand every word. Use a dictionary if necessary. I use this one

http://dictionary.cambridge.org/

Once you are sure that you fully understand both the ideas and the vocabulary in the text, click on the link at the bottom of the text and listen to my recording of it.

Now you are ready for the main presentation. Watch the video here:

That’s a different type of listening lesson from what we usually do. Leave us a comment about what you liked and didn’t like.
