More email practice – and news about online English teaching

Hello again,

At last we’ve got some sunshine here. We seem to have had weeks of snow and rain so it’s nice to be able to look out of the window and see a bright blue sky again.

My younger daughter lives in beautiful Dubai. She’s very happy there but she sometimes misses snow and rain ;-)

I got a lot of very positive feedback on last week’s exercise and so I have prepared a similar one for this week.

I’ve had a lot of requests to provide consultations, seminars and lessons by Internet. I’ve not done this before because the technology was not good enough but now I think I’ve found a system which works (although not perfectly yet.)

So I’m putting on an EXPERIMENTAL ‘Open House’ seminar at 10.00 on Saturday morning, British time. The seminar will last for 30 minutes and will cost $3.

Check here to see what time 10.00 AM is in your country:

If you want to take part, you need to do the following

1. Register your name here

Even if you can’t take part in my experiment, this site will show you details of free lessons given by other teachers. I strongly suggest that you sign up.

2. About ten minutes before the experiment starts, go to this link and click the button to join the lesson

3. You will be asked to pay three dollars. You can do this by Paypal. If you do not have a Paypal account, look for the small link that says ‘pay by credit card’. It’s not necessary to join Paypal to use them to pay a bill.

4. You will then be able to join my experiment. You can talk to me in a text window. if you have a headset, plug it in and we might be able to chat briefly.

5. All this is as new to me as to you. It might be a disaster. I think it will be fun.

6. If you have any questions about English that you would like me to answer, please send them to pearson@stroppycat.com or post to my blog as grammar-teacher.com or twitter me at grammarteacher or send me a message on facebook at pearson grammar-teacher.

I hope to see some of you tomorrow.
